Protect the retry
Games can make another attempt feel normal. Adults can protect that feeling by staying curious about the next strategy instead of rushing to supply the answer.
Ask what changed, what stayed the same, and what clue might help. These prompts frame a mistake as information the player can use.
If frustration is rising, pause. Learning is not improved by forcing one more round. A respectful stopping point is also a useful decision.
